every time i sit down to write about this trip i think, "oh man, i love colorado ." yesterday, i didn't think it was possible to love colorado any more than i did . but then this morning i saw the sun rise over these mountains and i realized that i really do love this place more than i did yesterday . i mean, really . check out these skies :
today was the day of the cows . we saw so many cows -- but i guess that's what happens when you spend your day driving in the middle of nowhere . as i was taking this picture i was secretly plotting a way of escape should this cow decide to bolt . because it looked like it wanted to and that worried me . but no worries, the cow's feet stayed firmly planted on the ground and it merely glared at us as we drove by .
also, that truck up there was in front of us for a good 30 minutes . which was unfortunate because the man was going 35 mph when the speed limit was 70 mph . it was frustrating, but not too bad because who can be truly upset when that's your view ?
today was also the last day that my dad and brothers will be here in colorado . tomorrow morning they leave to head back to south carolina, and the boys are headed to honduras at the end of the week for a missions trip ! i'm so thrilled [ and a bit jealous ] that they get this opportunity . can't wait to hear their stories .
anyways, we used this last day together to visit a fish hatchery, see some more mountains, & watch people rock climb . it was so great .
and while we're on rock climbing, can i just say that i'm mega jealous of people who can do this ? it's gotta be the coolest thing ever . talk about motivating -- i think watching people scale these canyons motivated me to get in shape like nothing else .
today was great . if you ever need something to do this summer, get outside . find some pretty scenery, rock climb, see the sights, hang out with your family . or just go to colorado, that'd be cool too .
