Around Here: Quiet Evenings in Georgia

it's quiet around here tonight . the family is asleep after a long day of working in the yard, eating grandma's pound cake, and playing endless games . i'm where i've been most of the day : my air mattress in the living room, brainstorming and planning for the new year . i've set goals for almost every area -- health & fitness, academic, social, spiritual, blog goals . it feels good . there's a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that i may not achieve them all, but i won't think of that now . these twelve little goals will only happen one day, one step at a time . they are achievable, i guess . . . . tomorrow we head back home from our grandparent's house and then i'll turn around and head out to new places . guys, this time in life [ being single, independent, and in possession of a small bit of money to burn ] is really the best . i mean, really . when else can we decide to pack up, spend a week in the north without a real plan and know that we'll enjoy every minute . it'll be full of cake, taylor swift's 1989 on repeat [ bring on those dance parties! ], sightseeing, and who knows what else . . . . so tomorrow the whirlwind chaos of life starts right back up, but for now, i'm enjoying this little air mattress and a bit of quiet . it's a breath of fresh air .
