Car Freshener // DIY

this is my precious mini van . it's old, was given to me by my grandpa, is definitely the envy of all of my friends -- and it stinks . my theory is that something leaks because any time it rains the poor thing smells like it's dead . thankfully, it's summer which means windows down and fresh air . but summer also brings heat [ duh ] so that doesn't help the smell .

just because my car is old doesn't mean it needs to smell old . i made it this great [ and super simple ] air freshener, and my great mini van is back to the stylish and fresh thing it used to be . mostly .

i found this idea on free people blog, and adapted it for my car & nose ! it took about three minutes .
i took a mason jar from my closet, poured in some baking soda and added a few drops of grapefruit, cedarwood, and lime essential oils . i traced the lid onto kraft paper, punched a few holes and voila ! my car smells nice and clean [ and citrus-y] again . let the summer adventures & roadtrips begin .
